Nice app to easily organize a huge screen. However, Google Chrome does not react when we drag it to a corner, but shortcuts are working fine.
This app is an excellent idea. It works fine in general (finder, safari, mail, transmission, terminal, iphoto, …). It is too bad that it doesnt work with Chrome and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), on which I spend a lot of time. I hope it will be corrected in the next version.
Provides no way to get a window to fill the desktop. Does not work in a multi-monitor environment.
I am a programmer and I use Alt+Arrow keys to move through my code. With iSnap, my screen moves erratically. Disabling the iSnap shortcuts disables the Alt+Arrow key text navigation as well and I am forced to completely exit iSnap to properly navigate text/code. Also, there is no way to change the shortcut settings in the iSnap settings page. Other than that, the tool is very useful.
…if you have multi monitor setup. The programm only recognizes one monitor and if you try to move a window to the other monitor it always wants to stick it to the edge of the current one.
Hey this app sounds awesome and a great way to organize things.. so I downloaded it. Unfortunately it only works every once an a while and doesnt seem to work for every application (ie. trying to "snap" microsoft office windows doesnt work)... Great idea but very poorly supported. Dont buy it unless it is update.
This is one of the worst apps Ive ever downloaded, it only works a fraction of the time and even then with only certain apps. I still dont know what "iShake" is. However this developers other apps are pretty good. I personally love iZip and Paintr
doesnt work for microsoft office...
Does what it says on the can for the most part. But having customizable shortcuts and graphical polish would be much appriciated. I would really enjoy seeing a new menu item icon, or an option to disable the menu icon entirely
This app is a fantastic idea and something that quite literally should have been designed into the OS from the beginning. As widescreen monitor sizes increase, the ability to snap apps into place on a grid and view multiple documents next to each other in "portrait" mode (the way we really want to see them) is fantastic. Thats why I was so excited to install this app. The reality is that iSnap is a fantastic idea that has been horribly executed. It simply doesnt work as advertised. That said, I would download and keep it (while its free) because once they release a version that works, this will be a must-have app. T-bone: I gave you 1 star, but Im rooting for you! Fix this app, guys! Note: Using iSnap on a MacBook Air with an external 30" monitor.
This is a great app….I always like the windows screen divider and now mac has this app too!
Works almost like the Windows version, but lacks the ability to move windows to another display. A bit of a deal breaker for me, but still usable for tasking on a single display.
The app is really good and works very well except when i move windows from one monitor for the other the app thinks i am dragging the window to the side and the window comes back to the other monitor. that is the only problem but i cant complain because when i bought this app the app was free so...
This is exactly what I was looking for, and non of the mac OS had this Great Job, Thank you
i switched to mac from windows 7 few months ago and i missed this one feature but now with isnap i dont miss windows 7 at all, after the update it started working very good for all windows on Lion 10.7.3 :)
I tried this with 3 windows (Safari, System Preferences, and Finder) on the screen and found the following behaviour: If you drag the Safari window to the edge of the screen it snaps into place like Windows 7. Sometimes. If you have previously moved the Finder or System Preference window it will not snap no matter how much you try (unless you let go of the window, making the previous window you moved the Safari one then try it again and it will work). The complete opposite is true for the Finder window. It will ONLY work if Finder or System Preferences was the last window to move, and will not work if Safari was the last window to move. If thats not enough, it will not work with a dual monitor setup. Once you drag a window off the the edge of the screen it will snap back to the side of the first window. Completely useless for everyday use! I gave it 2 stars because the odd time it works, it seems to work fairly well.
After looking through a bunch of reviews for similar apps, I decided to try this one because it was "Free for a limited time." That was over a month ago and now I understand why its free. Charging for this buggy app would be a crime because it doesnt work as described half the time. The configuration is poorly thought out and the behaviour just doesnt feel Mac-like. I liken it to a 1st year univeristy project that was never finished. Sometimes windows would snap and sometimes they wouldnt. Go with BetterSnapTool instead. It works 100% of the time and is very customizable.
Well the title says it all. When I work in a text editor and I want to go at the begining or the end of a word with atl+left or alt+right it doesnt work when iSnap is on even if shortcuts are disabled. So no fit for me till that bug is fixed.
Only works with native apps
